Anna Karenina

I picked up this book, or rather decided to give Tolstoy a try after an essay of his I read on Maupassant. I decided on Anna Karenina because it's shorter than War and Peace (although it's stilla robust 900 pages) and I knew absolutely nothing about it. I was not disappointed with this decision.

I was immediately drawn in by the immense detail Tolstoy pays to developing characters and their thoughts in particular.
